MERRY CHRISTMAS
posted by Lee McKenzie on 23/12/2009
I am writing this from the comfort of my bed! Cup of tea on the left, slice of Panettone on the right and out of my window the ground is white with a glistening of danger! The snow that fell a few days ago is now frozen solid after temperatures in Scotland have struggled to climb above zero.
Driving anywhere at the moment reminds me of when I trained on a frozen lake in Norway before taking part in Mountain Rally Norway – probably the scariest thing I have ever done! But in all seriousness please take care on the roads – I know there are many wannabe Sebastien Loeb’s out there and a little bit of snow and ice fills you all with joy!
What a year it has been in F1 and next year looks set to be even more exciting with Jenson and Lewis as team mates, Alonso now wearing Ferrari red, the amazing return of Massa and the comeback of one of the greatest drivers ever, Michael Schumacher.
A big thanks to everyone I worked with this year in F1, the drivers, teams and all the guys at the BBC. Thanks to all the guys at Landward at BBC Scotland – Horsepower was great fun to do and great to be filming in Scotland after all these tiring trips to Monaco, Singapore etc!! Variety is the spice and all that.
So there is just a couple of days before Christmas and really, all that remains to be said is thanks for coming along for the ride this year. Your comments, emails and company has been great and much appreciated.
Have a wonderful Christmas and we’ll catch up in 2010.
Lee x
