Filming Features and Delight for Adam!
posted by Lee McKenzie on 05/05/2009
A week after flying back from Bahrain and I am packing again, this time for Barcelona. Things are getting really busy and I have lots of filming outside the race weekends, but it is all pretty exciting and I sure you will like watching them too.
Tomorrow I am spending the day with Kimi Raikkonen. He is in London opening a new Ferrari store and after that I will be interviewing him. As much as I am looking forward to it, I am expecting it to be a bit of a challenge. I am spending today researching for the interview - that’ll probably take another few hours I would think.
On Thursday I go to Spain for the next F1 race. On the Thursday night I am presenting the GP2 Asia Awards and launching the GP2 European Championship which kicks off this weekend. Note to self: Remember to write scripts for GP2! Things are pretty busy.
After what is sure to be a hectic weekend in the Spanish sun, I come back for a day and then head off to Italy to spend some time filming with Jarno Trulli in the earthquake area of Abruzzo and then off to his vineyard to film there too.
I am making myself tired just thinking of all this! I will report in from Barcelona. Also the feature I did with Flavio Briatore at QPR v Bristol should be on this weekend at the start of the show, not sure Saturday or Sunday but I’ll let you know.
I spent the Bank Holiday at Brands Hatch to watch Ireland and more importantly Adam Carroll clinch the A1GP championship. I am sure that many of you know that I have worked with Adam for almost 5 years now.
There has rarely been a more deserving champion in any series. He has worked hard since he was little. He has won GP2 races in Monaco, Spa and Silverstone, 3 of the toughest tracks on the calendar and he is long overdue championship success. I just hope that this leads on to some bigger and better things in the future.
Speak soon from Spain.
